Individuals
Come meet people, make friends, and have meaningful conversations without needing a business card or perfect introduction.
The Business Meetup Network is a free community for people who miss real conversations, shared experiences, and meeting people in person. You do not have to own a business to belong here. Come as a resident, friend, neighbor, creator, student, parent, professional, side-project builder, or curious human who wants to connect with good people around Ann Arbor and beyond.
No awkward pitch circles. No pressure to sell yourself. Just coffee, conversation, learning, local experiences, community support, and people choosing to show up in real life again.
A lot of us are more connected than ever online, but less connected in real life. We scroll, message, comment, and watch from the sidelines, but it can still be hard to meet people, make friends, and feel part of a local community.
BMN exists to make showing up easier. It gives people a simple reason to leave the house, meet someone new, have a real conversation, learn something useful, and support local places in the process.
This is a community for people first. Business can happen naturally, but the first goal is connection.
Come meet people, make friends, and have meaningful conversations without needing a business card or perfect introduction.
Invite someone with you, discover local spots, and be part of experiences that help people feel more connected.
If you are new to Ann Arbor or rebuilding your local circle, BMN gives you a place to start.
Meet people who care about ideas, art, writing, tech, music, projects, and building meaningful things.
Build trust through conversation first. No cold selling. No awkward pitch energy. Just relationships.
Support local businesses, show up for community events, and help make the area feel more human again.
BMN is about bringing back the simple things that make community real: showing up, talking with people, learning together, sharing ideas, introducing friends, and supporting local places.
Casual gatherings where people can talk, connect, and meet new faces without pressure.
Free short classes on practical topics for business, life, creativity, systems, and learning.
Rotating meetups at coffee shops, restaurants, parks, community spaces, and local businesses.
Highlighting people, stories, local businesses, projects, and the humans building around us.
Simple recurring touch points make it easier to show up, recognize faces, and build real relationships over time.
Short, free sessions on practical skills, business, AI, websites, follow-up, marketing, projects, and community building.
Casual after-work conversation for people who want to meet others, trade ideas, and build trust in person.
Rotating community meetups, local spots, partner events, special experiences, and simple reasons to get together.
Get to know the person before trying to sell, pitch, recruit, or extract value from them.
Come for conversation, learning, friendship, ideas, or curiosity. You do not have to perform.
We gather in places that matter and help bring more attention to local businesses and spaces.
Community grows when people bring friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, and interesting humans.
Everyone has a story. The more we listen, the stronger the community gets.
Real relationships are built through repeated simple moments, not one big perfect event.
If you run a cafe, restaurant, bookstore, coworking space, studio, apartment community, nonprofit, shop, or local venue, you can become a community partner and be listed in the BMN community directory for free.
Partners can host meetups, sponsor Lunch & Learns, offer special experiences, invite the community into their space, or talk with Charlie about events that support local connection.
BMN also shares free classes, worksheets, event recaps, learning resources, and practical tools for people building businesses, side projects, community ideas, creative work, or simply a more connected life.
The network grows when good people, good businesses, and good spaces come together consistently. More partners and locations are being added as the community grows.
Whether you are here to make friends, get out of the house, support local businesses, learn something useful, bring your family, invite a friend, or build stronger community, the first step is joining the network.
